Take-Two Interactive and its subsidiaries, like 2K Games, are navigating the new normal with varied in-office policies. While Take-Two’s policy requires four in-office days/week, 2K Games offers a three-day/week schedule, highlighting how every company’s approach to flexibility differs. The key takeaway? Companies need to create an environment that makes employees want to come into the office rather than mandating it.
Cami shared that Take-Two prioritizes making the office feel welcoming and engaging. From incorporating healthy snacks and meals to organizing events centered around cultural celebrations (like Hispanic Heritage Month), the aim is to build an atmosphere employees look forward to being part of.
A successful employee experience also involves tailoring physical workspaces to meet different needs. Take-Two’s offices feature quiet zones, phone booths, and open collaborative spaces, all designed with employees in mind. By using human-centered design thinking, the company ensures that all employees, regardless of work style, feel comfortable and supported.
According to Cami, the secret to employee experience strategy lies in listening. Engagement surveys, town halls, and real conversations with employees help leadership understand what’s working and what needs improvement. The crucial step is to immediately bring the leadership team together and take timely action to make adjustments based on the feedback.
Cami emphasized the importance of collaboration between departments to enhance employee experience. Take-Two works closely with workplace services, internal communications, marketing, and creative teams to craft initiatives that resonate with employees. From managing vendors for office perks to ensuring that communication is consistent and engaging, every department plays a role in shaping the overall employee journey.
Metrics are critical in understanding the success of employee engagement efforts. Take-Two tracks attendance, total spending, event participation, and feedback through surveys after every event. By monitoring these KPIs, the company ensures that their initiatives not only encourage employees to come into the office but also provide a meaningful return on investment (ROI). Surveys after each event capture real-time sentiment, allowing the company to constantly adapt and improve.
Take-Two offers onboarding programs that go beyond introducing employees to the business, embedding compliance expectations, and preparing them for year-end reviews and performance management. Employees can also access stipends for continuous education, seminars, and development opportunities, making growth a constant part of their journey.
With executive sponsorship, 2K Games, a label under Take-Two launched a “bring the fun back” group to rejuvenate office morale post-COVID and layoffs. This initiative brought together employees from various departments to brainstorm ways to celebrate wins, no matter how small. Sponsorship from senior leaders boosted the engagement of other senior leaders, encouraging employees to feel more comfortable taking time away to attend.
