National Working Parents' Day 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

National Working Parents' Day 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

This year, National Working Parents Day takes place on September 16, 2022. This national holiday is an annual celebration to recognize parents who have spent time working to provide for their own families.

On this special day, we want to show our appreciation to parents who not only work to support their families, but who also are able to manage several responsibilities at a time while being supportive and giving a shoulder to lean on for their children every step of the way.

Whether our parents need some free time to unwind with their children, friends or themselves, here are a few activities that you can look through and use to show how much we appreciate their hard work:

Spa Get-away 💆‍♀️💆‍♂️

A great way for parents to find the time to unwind is to gift them a Spa package for a weekend. These packages can include many physical and mental health benefits, especially for those who have been extremely stressed and tired from working so hard.

Here are a few websites that will help you find the perfect Spa Packages for you to gift your parents:

Family-Friendly Arts & Crafts 🎨

A fun way to show appreciation to our hard-working role-models is to craft together some art that would symbolize your love towards them. Handmade gifts are a great way to showcase each other’s creativity and genuine feelings and appreciation towards their parents’ hard work! Here are a few Arts & crafts ideas that you can enjoy with your loved ones:

  • Memory Collage: Gather every memorable item that you have shared with your parents, whether its photos, small gifts, or symbolic items, and place them together into a little collage. This simple yet meaningful gift can then be displayed where everyone can see.
  • Thank You Note: Write down a message to your parents of how thankful you are towards their dedication and hard work to keep the family moving! Make sure that you acknowledge their efforts and how you feel towards them. This card can also be decorated with drawings that you think they will appreciate!
  • Gardening: Spend time outdoors with your parents by creating a small garden. Here, you can create and plant a vegetable garden, or a garden full of your parents’ favorite flowers.

Dinner and Wine 🍽 🍷

As much as parents love spending time with their children, sometimes it’s okay to take time to spend on your own or one on one time with your significant other! One way to do so is to plan an evening at a fancy restaurant. With this rare opportunity, parents can spend the evening dressing up to enjoy a fancy meal that they usually would not have with their own families.

This special day does not disregard any family time, it’s more so for parents to be acknowledged and appreciated for the efforts they have put into being able to continue a happy and healthy family. This celebratory day allows parents to sit back and take a break from handling all these responsibilities.
